if you like waffles and anything else...this is the place...not a dinner place (yet)...and is always packed...go early for a seat...outdoor seating and little dogs ok in their outdoor seating.  Sweet or savory...yes you will certainly be satisfied...

Hey crazy lady, I just add comments at the end of my post like you. I'm sure Yelp has records, again do not accuse me of things I did not do. I did not change my narrative one bit. You on the other hand keeps coming back to my review. I actually looked through your response to other negative feedback and you were snarky, but you are mad at me cause I posted older pictures. Please do yourself a favor and stop writing to me. You sound like you're in high school with a grudge and it's very unprofessional. Get help.

Also, it's funny you say I'm banned, since I wasn't planning on ever coming back like I said in my initial review? Smh.

    Wayyyy hyped up IMHO.

We first reserved seating through yelp at 9:44 am. Says the wait is approximately 30-35 mins and to check in at the restaurant at 10:10 am. We came a bit early and checked in at 10:05 - hostess tells us there are 8 parties ahead - cool no biggie. Time ticks away. several parties leave and 2/3 of the patio area is empty and it's now 10:30. Check back in with the host, "Oh there's 6 people ahead of you." Uh... okay? As I'm patiently waiting I see more than 10 parties sat before us. FINALLY at 10:50 we are sat down in the patio.

So we sit and wait and I legit feel the flames from Hades within me (Don't mess when I'm hangry) One of the bus runners see's I was obviously pissed off so she stops and takes our order and brings our water. Food took about 20 minutes.

    Positives:
-Side of pork belly hash was fcking delish! I coulda ate a whole plate of this.
-The fried chicken from my Chick'n Waffles was pretty damn good.

    Negatives:
-The savory waffles are yucky! No crisp whatsoever, they're limp, lifeless, flaccid, rubbery, whatever word you want to use to describe NO BUENO. Hard #$%^&* Pass.
-Service needs major help. The restaurant is well staffed and yet everyone was scrambling.

The verdict? Wham bam no thank you, mam. Cool that we get to say we tried it but we won't be back.

    Pro tip:
Pay in cash or else you'll be subject to a $2 credit card fee.

As the celebration weekend came to an end we wanted to finish it off with a last hoorah with our dear friend visiting from Southern California. Enticing as pictures are on Yelp we were drawn to the Waffle Experience. From savory to sweet there are menu items bound to captivate any appetite.

As parking goes there were a lot in the front and around the corner. For the waitlist you will get a text message when it is your time to come back and be seated. Also in the text message is a link to show you what number you are in line. The open kitchen is right there for all to see and watch the chefs up close or from a distance. Besides indoor sitting one can opt to be outside. It does feel a bit cramped in there, but the waitresses were pros in maneuvering pass the guests without bumping into anyone or dropping food!

For our party of three we ordered the eggcellent, our chicken n' waffles, and pig latin. There was a choice of house salad, seasonal fruit, french fries, pesto potatoes, or pork belly hash to go with your waffle experience. My suggestion would be to have someone each order the tasty pesto potatoes or pork belly hash and share the best of both worlds with one another!

My husband's pig latin was the favorite of the day. As shown on the menu it had spicy carnitas, fontina cheese, sauteed peppers, cabbage slaw, pico de gallo, chipotle aioli, and a jalapeno infused herb waffle. I know, it sounds weird right? I actually enjoyed it more than the our chicken n' waffles. Everything was flavorful and surprisingly came together in a way I didn't expect.

The our chicken n' waffles was good, but I wasn't completely convinced on the chili chive apple slaw, citrus infused ricotta cheese, and orange thyme marmalade. I'm already not keen on orange/citrus on savory dishes. Although, it doesn't hurt to try everything at least once! I will say the chicken wasn't dry and such a generous portion to serve. Speaking of serving our waitress and other staff we came across were very friendly and customer service oriented!

In addition to heavier entrees they had the self explanatory "Lighter Fare," "How Sweet it is," and "Wee Wafflers." So there is a waffle experience for everyone from young to old, and everything in between. Would I come back? Most definitely! Next time I won't leave without having one of their eye catching sweet waffles!

This place is incredibly overrated. We came here in hopes of discovering another great Sacramento brunch place but were both very disappointed.

The entire experience was made much more upsetting by the fact that we had to wait an hour and a half for such a mediocre meal. We were originally told the wait would be 45 minutes but based on the number of people in line before us, we knew it would be longer. It seemed somewhat deceptive.

I was REALLY excited to try the food here. I think they are able to obtain customers due to how good the food looks. It is very visually pleasing. During the hour and a half wait I had determined that the Farmer in the Dell would be the perfect meal to order. It had it all: waffle, egg, meat, gravy! What could go wrong? When I took my first bite I was immediately disappointed. It was very bland.

I take it as a very bad sign when I have to add salt to my own food at a restaurant. Proper seasoning is the most basic and quintessential element of a good meal and to overlook something to important is the sign of a bad restaurant, in my opinion.

After adding tons of salt, the meal was... better. Not good but passable. The chicken fried steak was dry in the middle and, in my opinion, far too thick to be considered country fried steak. The waffle itself, which I had high expectations for, was quite bland. I have made better savory waffles myself. I would not recommend this dish.

I also ordered the pork belly hash, excited to indulge. But, again, I was disappointed. The pork belly was a little bland and could have been crispier.

With all these bad experiences, I ended up switching meals with my fiance. He ordered the Chicken 'n Waffles. This meal was an improvement but still not great. My biggest sentiment is that it was very sweet, I think from the marmalade. However, the chicken was cooked well and had a nice, crispy shell, which I enjoyed. The waffle, again, was bland and the dish was average overall. This would be in the bottom half of my chicken and waffle experiences. The pesto potatoes were cooked well and delicious.

Both my fiance and I walked away expressing to each other how overrated this place is. I really wanted to like it. We waited an hour and a half for it! But after the first few bites, I wished we had gone anywhere else. There are so many incredible brunch spots in Sacramento so the bar is set high for this area. Unfortunately, The Waffle Experience did not cut it. We were glad we tried it but will not be back. I would not recommend this restaurant.
